Social prescribing enables GP's, nurses and other primary care professionals to refer people to a range of local, non-clinical services. It is this model that Patmar Peoples' Consultancy uses but OUTSIDE of the Healthcare system and within the community itself, utilising the infrastructure that is in place and creating their own self sustaining infrastructure. We will direct clients to a wide range of agencies which can include the police, fire service, job centres, social care services, specialist charities, food banks, housing associations and voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) organisations. Self-referral is also encouraged but if people need extra support we will endeavour to give it.
